THE LOWDOWN

PSG

Luis Enrique has already discussed the fairytale ending to Kylian Mbappe’s career at Paris Saint-Germain as he prepares to depart Parc des Princes on a free transfer at the end of this season. PSG are champions-elect and will win the league title as soon as this weekend if they defeat Le Havre in the French capital.

They come into this one on the back of a 4-1 demolition of Lorient in their most recent outing during the week. PSG have suffered just one defeat in their 30 Ligue 1 matches and they are also preparing for the Coupe de France final against Olympique Lyonnais next month and begin their UEFA Champions League semi-final in midweek against Borussia Dortmund.

LE HAVRE

In their first season back in the top-flight in over 15 years, Le Havre enjoyed a good first-half of the campaign but have since drifted quite significantly as they languish down at the bottom end of the table. Le Havre begin this weekend’s round of fixtures sitting third-from-bottom in the relegation playoff place.

It has been a very poor 2024 for the visitors, under the management of former Slovenia international Luka Elsner. The visitors come into this one on the back of a 1-0 loss at home to Metz in their most recent outing last weekend and they are now winless in their last five matches with just one win in their last 13 games across all competitions.

THE TEAM NEWS

PSG

There are still three defensive injury issues for Luis Enrique to concern himself with as Sergio Rico, Presnel Kimpembe and Layvin Kurzawa are unavailable.

PREDICTED XI (4-3-3): Donnarumma; Zague, Skriniar, Hernandez, Nuno Mendes; Mayulu, Fabian Ruiz, Lee; Dembele, Ramos, Mbappe

LE HAVRE

As has been the case for about a month or so, Le Havre a fully fit and available squad for this weekend so can name an unchanged eleven.

PREDICTED XI (4-2-3-1): Desmas; Sangante, Kinkoue, Salmier, El Hajjam; Targhalline, Kechta; Sabbi, Kuzyayev, Casimir; Ngoura

THE PREDICTION

Luis Enrique has been tempted to rest and rotate heavily in games like these in the last few months but with the league title there to be won, there is an expectation that the likes of Ousmane Dembele and Kylian Mbappe will start this weekend. Le Havre headed into the campaign as one of the weakest teams in the division before over performing at the start of this season and they have since regressed to their pre-season expectation. A heavy and comfortable PSG win is to be expected for this one this weekend.

TIP: PSG TO WIN -1 HANDICAP
