THE LOWDOWN

NICE

The surprise appointment of the inexperienced Francesco Farioli in the summer led to an incredibly impressive start to the season by Nice as they attempted to push to the very top end of the Ligue 1 table. However, the lack of goals and generally overly cautious and careful style of football did eventually begin to undermine their results as they drifted away from the top three.

The southerners do, though, come into this one on the back of an impressive and much-needed 3-1 defeat of Strasbourg in their most recent outing a couple of weeks ago with goals coming from Evann Guessand, Dante and Morgan Sanson. That leaves them six points outside of the top three with three games to go.

LE HAVRE

Le Havre begin this weekend’s round of fixtures sitting just outside of the bottom three and the danger zone in Ligue 1. The visitors started the season quite well following on from their promotion back to the top-flight for the first time in over 15 years but have drifted significantly as the season has gone on under the management of Luka Elsner.

The visitors do, though, come into this one on the back of a vital and much-needed 3-1 defeat of Strasbourg themselves last weekend with a brace from Yassine Kechta as well as a clinching goal from Ghana international Andre Ayew. That victory ended their six-match winless run of form in the league.

THE TEAM NEWS

NICE

There are a couple of injury issues for Francesco Farioli this weekend as both Valentin Rosier and Sofiane Diop are unavailable for this one.

PREDICTED XI (4-3-3): Bulka; Rosario, Todibo, Dante, Bard; Boudaoui, Ndayishimiye, Thuram; Cho, Guessand, Boga

UNAVAILABLE: Rosier (Injured), Diop (Injured)

QUESTIONABLE:

LE HAVRE

There is only one key injury concern for Le Havre this weekend as forward Mohamed Bayo is missing for Le Havre as they travel south to the Riviera.

PREDICTED XI (4-2-3-1): Desmas; Salmier, Kinkoue, Lloris, Operi; Targhalline, Toure; Casimir, Sabbi, Kechta; Ayew

UNAVAILABLE: Bayo (Injured)

QUESTIONABLE:

THE PREDICTION

This one has the potential to be quite one-sided at the Allianz Riviera. Nice have been generally underwhelming since a fast start to the campaign but the hosts are now finishing the season with a bit of a flourish, coming into this one on the back of a four-match unbeaten run of form. Le Havre, despite their victory last weekend, will remain very concerned about slipping into Ligue 2 and they are very much in danger. Backing Nice looks the way to go for this one, especially with their home advantage.

TIP: NICE TO WIN
