NANTES
This could be Nantes’ last Ligue 1 game for a while as their precarious position worsened with yet another loss last week. They were beaten by Lille as they made it 14 league games without a win and the pressure is well and truly on here.
They got off to a great start in that contest with Quentin Merlin giving them the lead in the opening 20 minutes but their lack of discipline would ultimately cost them as they conceded not one, but two penalties with the latter coming in the 88th minute.
The agonising manner of that loss could be tough to bounce back from and with no win in their last seven home matches, it will take a big effort to end that winless run here.
ANGERS
Angers have endured a dreadful season but they did claim a win last week and they will look to build on that to end their campaign. The bottom side claimed a first win in seven matches with that 2-1 success against Troyes.
Despite falling behind, Angers showed great character as Himad Abdelli levelled the scores and they kept going as they searched for a winner. They were ultimately rewarded in the 90th minute as Lillian Rao-Lisoa found the back of the net.
Despite the joy of last week’s effort, Angers now head on the road where they have been miserable this season. They have failed to win any of their last 14 away games with their inability to keep clean sheets a real issue for them.
THE PREDICTION
This is a huge game at the bottom with Nantes needing a win to have any chance of remaining in the division. They take on bottom side Angers who have already had their fate confirmed but they will be on a high after claiming a rare success last time out. However, they are poor on the road and struggle to keep clean sheets which should make this an open contest so expect over 2.5 goals in this one as Nantes push everything forward in search of what could be a vital win.
