THE LOWDOWN

BREST

Brest made it three straight wins as they overcame Marseille last week. They are on a superb run of form and have now lost just one of their last 10 matches which has seen them pull right away from any relegation danger.

Hugo Magnetti handed Brest the lead and despite being pulled back level with 15 minutes left on the clock, a quick response from Mahdi Camara sealed another three points for Brest.

They have been superbly consistent on home soil for a while with them winning their last five in front of their own fans and they will be eager to end the season with that record standing at six wins.

RENNES

Rennes come into this clash with a three-game winning streak to their name after they ran out 2-0 victors over Monaco last time out. It is also four wins in their last five and they occupy a top-five spot on the back of their recent form.

In what was a hugely significant contest, Rennes were able to leapfrog Monaco because of that result. After a goalless first half, second half efforts from Lovro Majer and Amine Gouiri secured what could be a priceless victory for Rennes.

However, despite their recent good run of form, they still have issues on the road. They were 0-5 victors over a woeful Ajaccio side on their latest away trip but they had lost their prior three matches before that success.

THE PREDICTION

This game could have big ramifications in the race to claim a European spot. Brest are ending the season on a good run of form and could scupper the hopes of Rennes with the away side hoping to maintain their spot in the top five. The visitors have struggled on the road with just one win in their last four and that is an issue here against a strong home side so it is worth backing the hosts to avoid defeat in this one.
