THE LOWDOWN

WOLVES

  • Wolves salvaged a draw with Nottingham Forest last Saturday courtesy of a late Daniel Podence equaliser but just one win from their last seven Premier League games is seeing the midlands side being dragged into the relegation dogfight.
  • Podence’s availability is unclear as he is currently contesting a FA charge for an incident against Forest, while Ruben Neves begins a two-match ban for reaching ten yellow cards for the season in the Premier League.

CHELSEA

  • Stuttering Chelsea have brought in club legend and former boss Frank Lampard until the end of the season in a bid to improve their footing in the table, where they are currently positioned in the bottom half.
  • Lampard may adopt his favoured four-at-the-back system straight off the bat while Mason Mount’s prospects of first-team football now look brighter with the England international featuring prominently in Lampard’s first reign at the club.

THE PREDICTION

The re-appointment of Frank Lampard on a temporary basis has raised one or two eyebrows but it can hardly get much worse for the Blues, whose massive financial outlay has not been matched by performances on the pitch. Fortunately for them, they are taking on a Wolves side who are also struggling for rhythm at the moment. On paper you’d have to fancy Chelsea but they have struggled in front of goal lately so a cagey, low-scoring game could well be on the cards with under 2.5 goals the prediction.

TIP: UNDER 2.5 GOALS
