THE LOWDOWN

NOTTINGHAM FOREST

Nuno Espirito Santo’s Nottingham Forest come into this one on the back of a 1-1 draw at Kenilworth Road against Luton Town in their most recent outing a couple of weeks ago before the March international break with Luke Berry scoring an 89th minute equalising goal in that game. They are now winless in their last four Premier League matches.

The hosts are under immense pressure as, during that aforementioned international break, the Premier League confirmed that Forest had been docked points for breaching Profit and Sustainability Rules. They have now sunk into the bottom three and the relegation places, a point below Luton Town as we begin the so-called ‘run-in’.

CRYSTAL PALACE

Oliver Glasner replaced Roy Hodgson last month and performances have been a little bit better with four points collected from three matches but the Eagles do remain involved in the relegation battle with the Croydon-based outfit beginning this weekend’s round of fixtures sitting eight points clear of the bottom three with ten games to go.

The Glasner reign began with a 3-0 hammering of struggling Burnley at Selhurst Park in late February before they then went ahead against Tottenham Hotspur but eventually lost by three goals to one. Their most recent outing saw them conceded a second-half stoppage-time equaliser at home to Luton Town in what was eventually a 1-1 draw.

THE TEAM NEWS

NOTTINGHAM FOREST

Nuno Espirito Santo, as is often, has remained without several key players but it is known that Ivory Coast defender Willy Boly suffered a muscle injury on international duty over the last couple of weeks.

There was a suggestion that New Zealand international Chris Wood is fit and available as he said he was needed in the absence of Nigerian forward, Taiwo Awoniyi. The likes of Ola Aina, Gonzalo Montiel and Nuno Tavares missed their last most recent outing.

PREDICTED XI (4-2-3-1): Sels; Williams, Felipe, Murillo, Toffolo; Yates, Sangare; Origi, Gibbs-White, Elanga; Wood

UNAVAILABLE: Boly (Injured), Montiel (Injured), Awoniyi (Injured)

QUESTIONABLE: Aina (Injured), Tavares (Injured), Wood (Injured)

CRYSTAL PALACE

Daniel Munoz has been declared fit and available, while Jeffrey Schlupp should be part of the squad after recovering from his injury.

Sam Jonhstone's season is unfortunately over, while Michael Olise has take part in some aspects of training but this weekend will come too soon for him to feature in the squad.

THE PREDICTION

Both Nottingham Forest and Crystal Palace have fallen into the ‘duller’ category of teams in this season’s Premier League. Nuno, famed for his reactive and stodgy style of football, comes up against an Eagles side looking to transition away from a similar pattern that was coached by Roy Hodgson and into a more effective and efficient, attacking side under Oliver Glasner. Palace have, though, remained a little unconvincing as they try and gel with the former Frankfurt boss and siding with Forest, with home advantage and a desperation to win, may well be the sensible option.

TIP: DOUBLE CHANCE – NOTTINGHAM FOREST TO WIN OR DRAW & UNDER 3.5 GOALS
