THE LOWDOWN

MAN CITY

  • It is rare that there is a game of such magnitude and importance with just over a month of the season to go. Manchester City head into what could be deemed a ‘final’ for the league after hammering Sheffield United by three goals to nil to reach the FA Cup final at the weekend.
  • City didn’t rotate as much as had been expected for that game at Wembley, with both Erling Haaland and Jack Grealish starting, but Kevin De Bruyne was rested and will be back for this crucial clash.

ARSENAL

  • Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal have been phenomenal throughout the campaign but The Gunners come into this on the back of three successive draws which has ramped up the pressure as they head to the Etihad. Firstly they threw away a two-goal lead in back-to-back matches before needing a dramatic comeback to salvage a 3-3 draw with bottom-of-the-table Southampton.
  • Arsenal know, though, that a victory at the Etihad will maintain their status as in pole position but the absence of William Saliba has been crucial to their recent dip in form and the Frenchman is, once again, expected to be unavailable for this encounter.

THE TEAM NEWS

ARSENAL

PREDICTED XI (4-3-3): Ramsdale; White, Holding, Gabriel, Zinchenko; Odegaard, Partey, Xhaka; Saka, Jesus, Martinelli

QUESTIONABLE: Xhaka (Illness)

THE PREDICTION

Manchester City have been in some ridiculous form across all competitions in the last couple of months. They had initially lacked some fluency in their general game as they adapted to Erling Haaland but they are now racking up the wins and goals. Their 3-0 win against Sheffield United at the weekend means they have suffered just one defeat in their last 20 matches. In those 20 games, they have scored 57 goals and they have beaten Arsenal twice in that run of form. Arsenal have been valiant and impressive in taking the title fight this deep but it seems as though the fairytale run is coming to an end.

TIP: MAN CITY TO WIN
