THE LOWDOWN
BOURNEMOUTH
- After their opening weekend victory over Aston Villa, newly-promoted Bournemouth were brought down to earth with a chastening 4-0 defeat at the hands of Man City, and the fixture calendar has thrown up another tough opponent here with the impressive Arsenal travelling to the south coast.
- Marcos Senesi could be in-line for his first start in the back three which could see Jefferson Lerma return to his more natural midfield position, while Dominic Solanke is an injury doubt going into the weekend.
ARSENAL
- As one of only two teams on maximum points after the first couple of games, there is a feel-good mood around the Gunners camp at the moment with last weekend’s 4-2 victory over Leicester marking an excellent home debut for summer signing Gabriel Jesus.
- Mikel Arteta will see little reason to change personnel here with his team performing so well, but the return to fitness of Takehiro Tomiyasu and Emile Smith Rowe does give the Gunners boss food for thought when selecting his side.

THE PREDICTION
Arsenal’s fine start to the season is in stark contrast to how their 2021-22 campaign petered out in hugely disappointing fashion, with Arteta’s new recruits bedding in nicely so far. The fact that Bukayo Saka has yet to hit his stride says a lot about the Gunners’ attacking prowess, and Bournemouth will have a difficult job containing them here. After an eye-catching display on his home debut that saw him register two goals and two assists, Gabriel Jesus will be full of confidence heading into this encounter, and the Brazilian is worth backing in the anytime goalscorer market.
TIP: GABRIEL JESUS TO SCORE ANYTIME
