THE PREDICTION

Arsenal’s dismal run of form continued on Sunday night as a Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang own goal saw them fall to a 0-1 loss at home to Burnley, a performance that saw them not only reduced to ten men following the dismissal of midfielder Granit Xhaka, but also booed off by many of the 2000 fans instead the Emirates Stadium. It was the Gunners’ fourth home league defeat in a row, the first time this has happened in 61 years and with high flying Southampton the latest visitors to North London, Mikel Arteta’s men have no time to rest on their laurels. The Saints in comparison, are flying after a 2-0 win over Sheffield Utd at the weekend saw them move into the UEFA Champions League places. Unlike Mikel Arteta, Southampton boss Ralph Hasenhuttl has the fortune of no injuries and the ability to choose a settled starting XI. When taking into account the obvious problems within the Arsenal camp and the respective form of both sides, Southampton will be smelling blood in this fixture and should emerge with the three points if they maintain their high standards of fitness and performance that we’ve been accustomed to seeing from them this season.
