Martin Landaluce continued his fine record at Masters 1000 events in Cincinnati last time out, as he won two matches in a row to reach the third-round. His campaign began with a straight sets win over former world number four Jack Draper. The Spaniard was 5-2 down in the second set and saved a number of set points, before fighting back to win 6-3 7-5. He then beat Roland Garros semi-finalist Matteo Arnaldi, before his run came to an end against Thiago Agustin Tirante. Landaluce was very competitive but lost 7-6 (5) 7-6 (4). The 21-year-old has progressed to two Masters quarter-finals in 2026.
His first-round opponent in Winston-Salem is Mattia Bellucci. The Italian lost in the second-round of the Cincinnati Open, despite taking Jakub Mensik all the way to a deciding set. He is ranked just outside the top 80 in the world.
