FPL 2023-24 | Gameweek 30 | Captain Picks

We’re now approaching the home stretch of the 2023-24 Fantasy Premier League campaign following the conclusion of the final international break to be played during this season. However, your rank can still dramatically change for the better or worse between now and the season’s conclusion, so captain picks remain as crucial as ever.

With that in mind, we return to highlight another three premium captain picks who could score big from an FPL perspective in Gameweek 30, along with an alternate differential option ahead of Saturday’s 11:00 deadline.

PREMIUM OPTIONS

Mo Salah (£13.1m) vs BHA (H)

Now back fit, it’s no surprise that Mo Salah is being brought back into masses of FPL squads when taking into account his ability to rack up huge point-scores. So far, it’s 15 goals and nine assists for the Egyptian this season in the Premier League with 168 fantasy points scored. Only Bukayo Saka and Ollie Watkins have managed more points, despite Salah missing six of Liverpool’s last eight Premier League games and appearing off the bench in the other two.

The Reds host Brighton in Gameweek 30, an opponent whom Salah has already been afforded plenty of joy against in 2023-24. The reverse fixture saw him bag a brace and 15 FPL points in a thrilling 2-2 draw and it’s unlikely that the Seagulls will come to Anfield with the intention to park the bus. This may well work in both Salah’s favour and the favour of those FPL managers who choose to captain him.

Heung-min Son (£10.1m) vs LUT (H)

With 23 goals conceded across their last eight league games, Luton’s defence seems ripe for exploitation from a fantasy perspective in Gameweek 30. With Spurs their opponents on Saturday, one player who appears ideal from a captaincy perspective is Heung-min Son when considering his attacking potential.

The last three gameweeks have seen attacking midfielder Son accumulate 26 FPL points, including a 17-point-haul against Aston Villa which saw him rack up three attacking returns (one goal and two assists). As it stands, Son boasts exactly the same number of fantasy points as Salah across the campaign and will be hoping to add to his 14 league goals this weekend vs the Hatters.

Cole Palmer (£5.8m) vs BUR (H)

No doubt frustrated after being called up for England but not given any minutes on the pitch by Gareth Southgate, Chelsea star Cole Palmer will no doubt be looking to take his frustrations out on Burnley in Gameweek 30. Palmer’s criminally cheap price is offset by a huge ownership of over 36%, justifying his premium status when it comes to potential captain picks.

Palmer boasts 20 attacking returns so far this season in the Premier League, 11 goals and nine assists. He has also accrued seven double-figure FPL scores, which is what every FPL manager is primarily looking for from their skipper on any given gameweek. Central to so much of what Chelsea do offensively, expect Palmer to be afforded plenty of chances to make a big splash this weekend.

DIFFERENTIAL OPTION

Rodrigo Muniz (£4.6m) vs SHU (a)

One of the more popular pickups leading up to Gameweek 30, Rodrigo Muniz’s ownership remains extremely modest, which only enhances the in-form forward’s differential potential. Muniz and Fulham travel to Sheffield Utd in Gameweek 30, the former on the back of double-figure FPL returns in two of the last three gameweeks, gaining 26 points over that period.

Three goals and one assist from Gameweek 27 and onwards should ensure Muniz’s place in the starting line-up under Marco Silva is nailed against the Blades. With so many enticing premium options available to hand the armband in Gameweek 30, it could be those who gamble on Muniz who profit the most.
