FPL 2023-24 | Double Gameweek 28 | Captain Picks

As expected in Gameweek 27, the most popular premium captain picks delivered for their respective owners. Erling Haaland (£14.5m) left it late, but did find the net against Man Utd whilst Bukayo Saka (£9.2m) picked up two assists in Arsenal’s mauling of Sheffield Utd. Staying with the Gunners and it was a hugely successful gameweek for our differential pick, midfielder Gabriel Martinelli (£7.7m). The Brazilian gained both a goal, an assist and 11 FPL points, rewarding those who did take the differential plunge.

Next up, a second double gameweek of the season, this time involving Bournemouth and Luton after their originally scheduled fixture back in Gameweek 17 was abandoned during the second half. With that in mind, we’re focusing on Bournemouth and Luton players only in Double Gameweek 28 with our three premium captain picks, as well as a differential option ahead of Saturday’s 11:00 deadline.

PREMIUM OPTIONS

Dominic Solanke (£7.2m) vs SHU (H), LUT (H)

Although there are question marks regarding his fitness and capability to start both Double Gameweek 28, the upside to captaining Dominic Solanke will make him worth the risk for many FPL bosses. Bournemouth’s star striker has not trained fully across the week but has previously expressed his confidence that he’ll be ready to play. With 14 goals, three assists and 130 fantasy points so far this season (the third most of any forward), starts against Luton and Sheffield Utd would fill anyone who captains Solanke with hope of a big haul.

Carlton Morris (£5.2m) vs CRY (a), BOU (a)

The most attractive asset of any Luton player, Carlton Morris has adapted excellently to Premier League life and that is reflected with his 14 attacking returns. It’s now eight goals and six assists so far for Morris, including a goal in four of their last five gameweeks, racking up 34 FPL points over that period. Unlike Bournemouth, Luton are away from home in both their Double Gameweek 28 fixtures which represents somewhat of a risk, but Morris’ highest haul of the season (11 points against Newcastle) came in an away fixture.

DIFFERENTIAL OPTION

Antoine Semenyo (£4.5m) vs SHU (H), LUT (H)

Whilst the majority of FPL managers will be focused on Solanke when considering a Bournemouth forward to captain in Double Gameweek 28, Antoine Semenyo at just £4.5m offers significant differential value. Semenyo was on the scoresheet in Gameweek 27 as the Cherries defeated Burnley 0-2 at Turf Moor. With two goals, 17 FPL points and a clean bill of health ahead of Double Gameweek 28, Semenyo may well prove the smart captaincy play.
