England thrashed an extremely poor Pakistan at Headingley in the opening test and now look to ram home their advantage at the home of cricket.

England vs Pakistan prediction

England took care of Pakistan inside of three days in the first test, putting together a complete performance to totally dominate the tourists. Having won the toss and bowled first, the duo of Ollie Robinson and Josh Tongue took over, each taking five wickets to bowl Pakistan out for just 171. A score of 409 then followed for England before both Robinson and Tongue took another three wickets each as the hosts completed an innings and 103-run victory.

Whilst more nightlife controversy has dogged England in the build-up to this series which has led to fast bowler Brydon Carse being dropped from the squad for this second test. But that shouldn’t affect what we see from this team against what is one of the weakest Pakistan red ball teams in many years.

With a sketchy weather forecast across the scheduled five days, we’re likely see some cloud cover and potential rain delays. That suits a bowler like Ollie Robinson, as we saw at Headingley. He puts the ball in the right places and will draw any movement out of the pitch. Back him to gain another five wickets here in what should still end in an England win.

England vs Pakistan tip: England to win and Ollie Robinson to take over 4.5 match wickets
