Welsh Fire are unfortunately reverting back to the sort of form which saw them embarrass themselves over the course of the past couple of Men’s Hundred competitions and consecutive losses see them two points adrift of the top three. Whilst they were better against Trent Rockets last Monday as they look to make up for the thrashing suffered at the hands of Southern Brave, they still ended up on the losing side, piling further pressure on ahead of this latest encounter.

London Spirit’s well-managed 13-run triumph over Northern Superchargers this past Friday night sees them now on six points and still very much in the race for a top three place. This is their penultimate group game, which ramps up the importance of it but captain Dan Lawrence will be very optimistic with key players seemingly coming into form at just the right time. Adam Rossington for example, has racked up 114 runs across his last two innings, whilst Ravi Bopara is coming off the back of a four-wicket-haul where he dismantled the Superchargers’ batting line-up single-handedly.

Welsh Fire will desperate be hoping that their New Zealand bowling pair of Matt Henry and Lockie Ferguson can hit the ground running here to give themselves the best chance of success.
