It all started so well for Zimbabwe in their white ball series against Ireland, winning the opening T20i by one wicket. Little did they know that it would be the only game they would win, with Ireland coming from behind to claim the T20i series, before beating the hosts 0-2 in the three-match ODI series, a real disappointment for Zimbabwe on their own patch.
THE PREDICTION
Sri Lanka have no excuses not to get the better of Zimbabwe in Colombo, especially when taking into account the tourists’ struggles against Ireland. Their spin-bowlers should be afforded plenty of joy at the R Premadasa Stadium and the Sri Lankan batting is significantly stronger than Zimbabwe’s from a depth perspective, so back a home victory to kick this series off.
