Cameron Norrie booked his place in the Wimbledon quarter-finals for the second time as he overcame Nicolas Jarry in a dramatic five set encounter. The Briton squandered the opportunity to wrap the match up in straight sets as the Chilean saved a match point in the third and then staged a comeback, forcing a decider. Norrie got the key break early on and held his nerve to win 6-3 7-6 6-7 6-7 6-3. Norrie was not broken on serve throughout the match.
Carlos Alcaraz produced his best performance of the tournament so far as he defeated Andrey Rublev to make it 18 straight wins at SW19. He lost the first set but came back strongly to win 6-7 6-3 6-4 6-4. It was an unbelievable serving performance from Alcaraz, as he thundered down 22 aces.
Alcaraz leads the head-to-head 4-2 but this is their first match on grass. Norrie did win their last match in the final of the Rio Open two years ago, coming from a set down to win. The Briton is a gritty competitor and could frustrate Alcaraz, but the Spaniard should still find a way to get through.
