Australia vs Bangladesh prediction

Australia returns to red ball action at home with a two-test series against Bangladesh, who stunned the Aussies in the ODI-leg of a white ball series just a couple of months back in the sub-continent. The Tigers won that three-game set 2-1 and such a result will ensure that Australia are locked in, fully focused and intent to send a message when it comes to their test dominance at home. Unsurprisingly, they are mammoth favourites heading into the series.

You could pick out multiple players capable of having a big game for Australia, whether it be Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood and Nathan Lyon with the ball, or Travis Head, Marnus Labuschagne or Jake Weatherald with the bat. But our focus has to be on Steve Smith. He is simply a class above once established at the crease and on a batter friendly surface, he could give Bangladesh’s bowlers nightmares and bed in for a long time. Backing him to rack up a big score across the five days should be seen as a sensible option.

Australia vs Bangladesh tip: Steve Smith to score over 93.5 match runs
