Argentina vs Australia prediction
Argentina won Pool B, the followed that up by topping Pool F in the second round, recording consecutive clean sheets having beaten Spain 3-0 and playing out a goalless draw with Belgium. Earlier in the competition, they had shaken off a slow start by defeating both Germany and Scotland. As for Australia, despite only picking up two points in the second round, they still managed to secure second-place in Pool E on goals scored. They finished level on points with both India and China, but a better goal difference than the latter and one more goal than the former saw the Hockeyroos qualify.
When considering potential opponents, Argentina must be quietly satisfied with who they are playing. They are a better team than Australia and are also in great form. Having nailed a mix of attacking flair and defensive grit, all the ingredients are there for Argentina to go all the way. Expect them to defeat Australia and reach the final.
