PREDICTION
Alan Pardew’s short tenure at the Hawthorns has come to an end as he could do little to halt the wretched run of results that West Brom have suffered this season. Eight straight defeats were more than enough for the club’s hierarchy to show him the exit door with relegation now almost a mere formality.
Club legend Darren Moore takes over the reigns between now and the end of the campaign as the club prepare for life in the Championship. The question is whether there can be a new manager lift at the second time of asking.
There was certainly something of a lift when Swansea appointed Carlos Carvalhal as he has revitalised the fortunes of the South Wales outfit, however, the promised land of Premier League survival has not been reached just yet.
With West Brom struggling to even pick up a point as of late, Swansea will be very confident of picking up a win this weekend. Anything less and it will be an opportunity missed in their own bid for survival.
MEMORABLE MEETING
December 2016 saw West Brom play host to Swansea as Salomon Rondon made history as he was just the second player in the Premier League to score a hat-trick of headers. The Venezuelan put his head to good use in the second half as a 13-minute spell saw him secure the win for the Baggies.
There was still time for Wayne Routledge to score for Swansea with 12 minutes remaining, but it was nothing more than a scant consolation as Rondon went home with the match ball and West Brom earned all three points.
