PREDICTION
Paul Lambert cannot seem to find the result required to pull his Stoke side out of the bottom three, with no win in their last six outings seeing the Potters lie second bottom going into this weekend’s clash with Everton.
A win could see them move out of the relegation zone as there is a whole host of inactivity around them, but defeat would mean they would have played a game more than their relegation rivals with nothing to show for it.
Standing in their way is an Everton side who got the better of Brighton last Saturday and subsequently moved back into the top half of the table. Sam Allardyce’s men have conceded the most goals in the top half while Stoke have conceded the most in the division. This means there could well be goals on the menu, but it is the Toffees who are more likelym to serve up a win.
MEMORABLE MEETING
December 2015 saw the two sides play out a seven-goal thriller at Goodison Park and it was the visitors who came away with all three points. It is a game that will be remembered the most for Xherdan Shaqiri’s fantastic volleyed goal, one that may have in fact been intended as a cross. However, it was not the winning goal, as that task fell to Austrian international Marko Arnautovic whose 90th minute penalty snatched a 4-3 win for Stoke right at the death.
