PREDICTION
Three successive Premier League wins for Newcastle has all but secured their top-flight status for a second straight season, something that looked unlikely at the start of March. Credit not only has to go to Rafael Benitez but also his players for finding the required results when it really matters.
This Sunday they will look to confirm their survival when they play host to Arsenal. The Gunners will be coming to Tyneside off the back of their European exploits in midweek and with semi-final progression almost assured, there is a chance that they will be well rested once more.
That was the case against Southampton last weekend, but even with a rejigged line up they still eventually managed to come out on top thanks to a 3-2 win at the Emirates. The question now for Arsene Wenger is whether he is going to put all his eggs in a Europa League shaped basket.
If he does, then Newcastle could well take full advantage. Both teams have won their last three league outings so in terms of form there is not a lot to split them. Newcastle’s resurgence coupled with Arsenal’s potential fatigue after their euro adventures means this could end up in a draw.
