PREDICTION
Jurgen Klopp would have obviously been smarting after defeat to Manchester United last Saturday and the fact that Liverpool slipped to fourth in the Premier League table at the end of the gameweek would have only made matters worse.
They do however have the ideal opportunity to move back up to third this weekend when they play host to Watford. Tottenham’s inactivity means that at least a point for Liverpool would see them take third place once more, albeit having played a game more than their nearest rivals.
Javi Gracia’s Watford side come here off the back of a comprehensive defeat to Arsenal last Sunday and face a second successive tricky away day. They lost 3-0 to the Gunners and although the hope will be that this is not an outcome that is repeated at the weekend, the reality is that it could well be if Liverpool bounce back in the best possible way.
MEMORABLE MEETING
Last season saw the two teams meet at Anfield and it was Liverpool who recorded an emphatic win over Watford. Jurgen Klopp’s men made light work of the Hornets and it was a win that saw them move to the top of the Premier League table for the first time under their current manager. There were five different Liverpool goal scorers that afternoon as they strolled to a 6-1 win. The only consolation for Watford was a late Daryl Janmaat goal which had little impact on the game’s outcome.
