PREDICTION
Crystal Palace and Liverpool were two of the handful of teams to play in the curtailed Premier League programme before the international break and they both celebrated important wins. For Roy Hodgson’s men it was a three vital points away at Huddersfield, while for Jurgen Klopp it was an emphatic win over Watford which saw them move back into third place in the table.
Palace’s run of fixtures has been incredibly tough as of late, but they are just managing to keep their heads above water as they battle to stave off relegation. Their best form has been saved for their own fans and there is going to have to be more of the same this weekend.
However, with Mohamed Salah fresh from his sensational four goal haul against Watford, Liverpool will have a serious attacking threat at their disposal, one that should be enough to see them return to Merseyside with all three points.
MEMORABLE MEETING
If 2005 was that night in Istanbul, then 2014 could just as well be named Crystanbul. This was the night that Liverpool’s title hopes all but imploded in South London as they threw away a three-goal lead and with that all but handed the title to Manchester City.
It looked as if we were going to see the 2013-14 title race go right down to the wire but Tony Pulis’ Crystal Palace side threw a spanner in the works as they completed a sensational comeback to snatch a point and leave the Liverpool fans in attendance speechless as the club’s wait for a first domestic league title since 1990 would have to continue.
