- Ninth-seed Sloane Stephens has blitzed past her first two opponents Timea Bacsinszky and Wang Yafan to meet Jo Konta for the fourth time this year.
- 2017 US Open champion Stephens lost to Konta as recently as the quarter-finals at Roland-Garros last month and has never beaten the British number one.

- Johanna Konta will meet Sloane Stephens in the third round after defeating a shell-shocked Katerina Siniakova in straight sets.
- Konta had a disappointing grass-court season in preparation for Wimbledon having lost to Jelena Ostapenko at Birmingham and Ons Jabeur at her home tournament in Eastbourne.

THE PREDICTION
Johanna Konta played arguably the best match of her career in a 6-1, 6-4 win over her next opponent Sloane Stephens at Roland-Garros last month and history is on her side here with three wins from three against the American, notably all of which have been played this year. Stephens will be sorry to see the British number one so soon after exiting two of her last three tournaments by her hands. This is their first meeting on grass, but Konta should prevail with a home crowd behind her.
