- Seven-time Wimbledon champion Serena Williams returns at the age of 37 to attempt to win her first Grand Slam since becoming a mother.

- Williams lost to Karolina Pliskova in the quarter-finals of the Australian Open and Sofia Kenin at Roland-Garros this year, with the former one of her main rivals for the Wimbledon title this tournament.
KAJA JUVAN
- 18-year-old Kaja Juvan beat Kristyna Pliskova, sister of Karolina, in the first round of Wimbledon to face the ultimate foe in Serena Williams.
- The Slovenian qualifier got past the likes of Christina McHale to make the main draw and pushed Tunisia’s Ons Jabeur all the way in her previous match on grass in Mallorca a fortnight ago.
- Juvan lost in the first round of Roland-Garros and so has already surpassed her record at a Grand Slam with this Centre Court occasion against Serena Williams her reward.
THE PREDICTION
Serena Williams struggled to find her rhythm early on against Giulia Gatto-Monticone and even conceded two breaks of serve in her straight-sets victory. She may well falter from time to time against Slovenian starlet Kaja Juvan, who is almost 20 years her junior, but after Cori Gauff’s victory over her elder sister Venus, Serena will make sure of bringing her A game to progress to the third round.
