THE PREDICTION
A repeat of last year’s semi-final is just what Serena Williams needs to recalibrate herself after two nervous and choppy matches against relative unknowns. The seven-time Wimbledon champion is at her best when threatened in this the latter stage of her career, although she might feel the strain after playing mixed doubles the night before. This could be seen as a chance at redemption for Julia Gorges but the German has never taken a set from Serena Williams in four attempts and is unlikely to start now.
