- This will be Djokovic’s ninth Wimbledon semi-final with a 5-3 record including his five-set epic with Rafael Nadal last year he won on his way to a fourth title.
- The world number one will face a different Spaniard in this year’s semi-final, Roberto Bautista Agut, with whom he leads a 7-3 head-to-head record.

- Roberto Bautista Agut dropped the first set of his wonderful Wimbledon campaign to Argentine Guido Pella in their quarter-final but secured the fourth with composure.
- The world number 22 has been something of a late bloomer but is in the form of his life at 31 years old and reached the quarter-finals of the Australian Open earlier this year.
- While Djokovic leads their career record, Bautista Agut leads their 2019 head-to-head 2-0 after two deciding-set wins in Doha and Florida, both hard courts.
THE PREDICTION
This was the match many fans did not know they wanted but it could be every bit as competitive as the match on the other side of the draw. World number one Novak Djokovic will fear his semi-final opponent Roberto Bautista Agut more than most as five out of their ten matches together have seen both players take a set off of the other, including their last three. Interestingly, two of Bautista Agut’s three wins against Djokovic have come in semi-finals, although not at Grand Slams. The Serb levels that particular scale with three out of three matches won between the pair at Grand Slams, two at Roland-Garros and one at the US Open. Bautista Agut could take this to a decider but Djokovic will be wary of him here and will be determined to put it to bed early.
