LLOYD HARRIS
- 22-year-old Lloyd Harris moved to a career-high 86 in the world this week as he embarks on his first Wimbledon first round proper with the toughest possible test.
- The South African youngster will face Roger Federer in the first round of the tournament and will thoroughly enjoy his first experience of playing the Swiss legend.
- Harris won a Challenger event this year back in January and did make it past the first round of his only other Grand Slam at Roland-Garros, albeit against much easier competition in Lukas Rosol.
ROGER FEDERER
- Roger Federer completed his usual Wimbledon preparations by winning his 10th title at Halle in Germany, following the disappointment of losing out in the semis at Roland-Garros.
- No male player has won Wimbledon in the Open era more times than Roger Federer and he will always be a favourite for the title, even at the age of 37.
- Federer has never played his first-round opponent Lloyd Harris before but the Swiss has not lost in the first round at Wimbledon since 2002.
THE PREDICTION
Roger Federer will open his Wimbledon account against young South African Lloyd harris, 15 years his junior, on Monday as he chases his ninth Wimbledon title. Federer leads the ATP tour this year with three titles and knows if he can reach the semi-finals he will break another milestone, 100 wins at Wimbledon, which has never been achieved before. Lloyd Harris lost to James Ward at Eastbourne qualifying last week and is unlikely to pull up any tress, but should savour this occasion as he plays in front of the largest crowd of his fledgling career.
