- Felix Auger-Aliassime is looking ever more like a future Grand Slam champion after his second-round defeat of Corentin Moutet in four sets.
- 18-year-old Canadian Auger-Aliassime will now face a second successive French youngster in 21-year-old Ugo Humbert, who will not be used to being the senior player at this level.
- Auger-Aliassime has lost to the eventual champion in his last three tournaments, Benoit Paire in Lyon, Matteo Berrettini in Stuttgart and Feliciano Lopez at Queen’s in London.

- Ugo Humbert justified his place in the second round by comprehensively beating Marcel Granollers following Gael Monfils’ retirement through injury in the first round
- Humbert will have played compatriot Pierre-Hugues Herbert and Andy Murray in the men’s doubles on Thursday evening which could take its toll if this match goes the distance.

THE PREDICTION
It looks as if it will take a truly elite player to eliminate young starlet Felix Auger-Aliassime at this year’s Wimbledon, with the Canadian able to go very deep into this tournament. He seems to be coping well with the pressure placed upon him by the exits of fellow next-gen stars Stefanos Tsitsipas and Alexander Zverev. Ugo Humbert made it past Gael Monfils, with some help through Monfils’ retirement through injury, and can be pleased with his performance so far but he is likely to lose out here.
