THE TEAM NEWS

WAKEFIELD TRINITY

Head Coach: Chris Chester

Squad: Brough, Caton-Brown, Croft, Crowther, England, Fifita, Gwaze, Hampshire, Hirst, Jones-Bishop, King, Kopczak, Lyne, Miller, Pauli, Randell, Tanginoa, Tupou, Wood

  • Wakefield lost their sixth consecutive game in all competitions as they were comfortably defeated by Warrington last week with Trinity desperate for a win to halt their slide down the table.

  • Tyler Randell should return for Wakefield this week after a head knock and has been named in the 19-man squad alongside youngster Titus Gwaze who retains his place after debuting last week.

  • In a further huge boost for Wakefield, Bill Tupou is also back in the squad following a prolonged absence through injury and his return coincides with him signing a new deal to stay at Trinity until the end of the 2022 season.

HUDDERSFIELD GIANTS

Head Coach: Simon Woolford

Squad: Clough, Cudjoe, English, Ferguson, Frawley, Gaskell, Ikahihifo, Lawrence, Leeming, Matagi, McGilvary, McIntosh, Mellor, Murphy, O’Brien, Roberts, I. Senior, Ta’ai, Turner

Unavailable: Adam Walne, Akuila Uate, Joe Wardle, Jake Wardle

  • Huddersfield were unable to live with Wigan as the Warriors proved too good for the Giants who remain in trouble of relegation and will need to start picking up victories as soon as possible to pull themselves away from danger.

  • The Giants are desperate to get some of their injured players back on the field with several experienced names sitting on the sidelines for large spells this season but they have been given some huge boosts this week.

  • Leroy Cudjoe, Jermaine McGilvary and Michael Lawrence are all back in the squad with Cudjoe’s return in particular great news for Huddersfield with the skipper fighting back from a career-threatening injury.

THE PREDICTION

Wakefield will be hoping they can defeat Huddersfield for a third time this season as they look to bring to an end their terrible losing run. They have won both encounters with the Giants by just a single point but with Huddersfield also out of sorts, Trinity can win here. The Giants will be boosted by the return to outside backs Leroy Cudjoe and Jermaine McGilvary but Trinity can also boast Bill Tupou’s comeback with Trinity able to get back on track and plunge Huddersfield into further relegation trouble.
