- Wakefield were comprehensively beaten by Catalans as their play-off hopes took a hit in the sweltering heat in the south of France with a local derby against Castleford next up for Trinity in what is a crucial contest.
- They have received a boost this week with three players returning to the squad from injury in the form of Max Jowitt, Mason Caton-Brown and James Batchelor to give Trinity more options.

- Castleford were disappointing as they failed to build on their win over London with a timid display to succumb to Leeds with their play-off hopes still looking on shaky ground.
- The Tigers will be desperately hoping Jake Trueman can overcome a head knock with Jordan Rankin and Cory Aston failing to click and he looks set to win his fitness battle after he was named in the 19-man squad in place of Aston.
- Tuoyo Egodo also returns after missing out last week whilst Oliver Holmes us back in the squad for the first time since April and is joined by Jacques O’Neill who also comes into contention with Mitch Clark, Greg Eden and Matt Cook all making way.
THE PREDICTION
This is a huge game between two local rivals and the outcome could have a huge impact on the play-off hopes of both teams. Both have dropped out of the top 5 over recent weeks and another loss here could be damaging. It is a very difficult game to call as the pair continue to struggle but the return of Jake Trueman for Castleford coupled with the loss of David Fifita for Wakefield could be important and edge the contest in the away team’s favour.
