THE TEAM NEWS

HULL KR

Head Coach: Tony Smith

Squad: Atkin, Bardle, Crooks, Dagger, Drinkwater, Garbutt, Hall, Harrison, Hauraki, Keinhorst, Lawler, Lee, Lunt, Masoe, Mulhern, Quinlan, Rooks, Shaw, Tomkins

Unavailable: James Greenwood, Danny McGuire Danny Addy, Kane Linnett, Ryan Lannon

  • Hull KR suffered a heart-breaking defeat at home to Wigan as Rovers lost in Tony Smith's first game in charge of his new club and they now face another tough contest against Smith’s former club Warrington.

  • Rovers lost Danny Addy and Kane Linnett to injuries last week and will both be missing for this game whilst Danny McGuire is once again unavailable and Antoni Maria has been recalled by Catalans.

  • Long-term absentee Adam Quinlan is back in the squad for the first time this season and will return at fullback whilst Tommy Lee is back from his knock and Mitch Garbutt returns from a ban with youngster Harry Bardle also receiving a call-up to the 19-man squad.

WARRINGTON WOLVES

Head Coach: Steve Price

Squad: Akauola, Atkins, Austin, Charnley, J. Clark, Cooper, Currie, Davis, Goodwin, Hill, Hughes, Johnson, King, Livett, Mamo, Murdoch-Masila, Patton, Tasi, Walker

Unavailable: Kevin Brown, Stefan Ratchford, Ben Westwood, Tom Lineham, Daryl Clark, Joe Philbin

  • Warrington produced a strong second half display as they brushed Catalans aside to close the gap on St. Helens at the top of the table and now travel to Hull KR, the side they knocked out of the Challenge Cup at the end of May.

  • The Wolves will be able to recall Jake Mamo after he completed his one-match ban which sees last week’s debutant Josh Thewlis make way despite a solid showing which saw him win the man of the match award.

  • Joe Philbin and Daryl Clark will also miss out which is a huge blow for the Wolves, especially in the case of Clark who has been in sensational form for Warrington this season with Ryan Atkins and Lama Tasi taking their places in the 19-man squad.

THE PREDICTION

Hull KR are now level on points with London at the bottom after last weekend's results and face another test as Warrington cross the Pennines. The Wolves showed glimpses of their quality in the second half as they saw off Catalans and should be able to carry that form into this game. They will have to overcome the loss of Daryl Clark and whilst Rovers will be competitive, the Wolves should still have too much as they look to keep the pressure on St. Helens.
