JUAN MARTIN DEL POTRO
- Del Potro has been suffering from injury for most of the 2019 season and he reached the fourth round of the French Open.
- Juan Martin Del Potro is a very good grass court player as his career record on this surface is 43-18 and he won the bronze medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics.
- The Argentinian is world No. 12 and he is making his fifth appearance at the Queen's Club with a record of five wins and four losses.
DENIS SHAPOVALOV
- Denis Shapovalov has previously struggled for form on grass with a win-rate of only 50% and the Canadian only won two grass-court matches last season.
- The 20-year-old Canadian made it to the quarter-finals of the Lyon Open in May where he lost to Benoit Paire in three sets.
- Shapovalov lost in the first round of the French Open to Jan-Lennard Struff and he was also beaten by the German again in the first round of the Mercedes Cup last week.
THE PREDICTION
Del Potro and Shapovalov have both won a game apiece against one another and the Argentine won the last meeting in Auckland on a hard court. Shapovalov encountered a poor clay season and without much success on grass, expect the more experienced Del Potro to advance to the next round at Queen’s Club.
