- A dramatic late try by Michael Chee-Kam gave Wests Tigers their second victory in a row with an important win over South Sydney which kept them in touching distance of the play-off spots.
- Wests will be without Moses Mbye as he is unavailable due to Origin but the Tigers have plenty of options in their backline to replace him with Paul Momirovski getting the nod in the centres.
- In the only other change from last week’s side, Josh Aloiai returns at prop in place of Oliver Clark after he was a late withdrawal due to illness last week whilst Josh Reynolds is named among the reserves.

- Sydney Roosters were narrowly defeated by Melbourne at the Adelaide Oval as their minor premiership begins to slip away from them and with the chasing pack all gaining points last week, they will need a win here to remain within the top three spots on the ladder.
- The Roosters will be missing two key players due to Origin but have been boosted by the return of five-eighth Luke Keary who will return after a prolonged period out due to concussion-related symptoms.
- Joseph Manu shifts to fullback in place of James Tedesco as Roosters and New South Wales captain Boyd Cordner is replaced by Nat Butcher in the back row whilst Jared Waerea-Hargreaves returns from a hamstring in place of Siosiua Taukeiaho.
THE PREDICTION
Wests made it back-to-back wins as they defeated South Sydney last week but will have to improve again this week as they host the Sydney Roosters. The Roosters will field an under-strength side this week with James Tedesco the biggest miss but can overcome their missing personnel to edge this with Luke Keary’s return extremely important. He was in superb form before succumbing to another head knock and if he can quickly rekindle his partnership with Cooper Cronk in the halves, the Roosters should have too much for the Tigers.
