- Cronulla claimed a hard fought victory over Gold Coast last week with the injury-hit Sharks overcoming plenty of adversity as they continue to pick up points despite the absence of key personnel.
- The Sharks could be without starting front row pairing Andrew Fifita and Matt Prior after both suffered injuries last week but are being given every last second to prove their fitness having being named in the side with Fifita in the most danger of missing out.
- If the pair make the final 17 that is named before kick-off, it will see the Sharks run out with an unchanged line-up in what shapes as an important clash with a side on the same number of points as them.

- Manly put in a valiant effort against Brisbane in the Magic Round but suffered more injury strife during the game as they were defeated by the Broncos but the return of some troops will give them a big boost this week.
- Manly looked to be in the midst of an injury crisis with Toafofoa Sipley, and Moses Suli picking up knocks last week but their absence has been countered by the return of Addin Fonua-Blake, Lachlan Croker and Jorge Taufua.
- In another lift for the Sea Eagles, Dylan Walker is free to play his first game of the season after his NRL ban was lifted following being found not guilty in the courts for an off-field discretion and will be thrown straight into the centres.
THE PREDICTION
Both of these teams are suffering badly with injuries with both missing key men and it could get worse for Cronulla if prop Andrew Fifita fails to prove his fitness. Manly have been boosted by the return of several players but are still missing two crucial parts of their spine. However, they have continued to play well in the absence of Daly Cherry-Evans and Tom Trbojevic with Des Hasler getting plenty out of his troops. This is a tricky game to call with both capable of the win but preference just goes to the Sharks on home soil.
