THE TEAM NEWS
SYDNEY SIXERS
Coach: Greg Shipperd
Captain: Moises Henriques
- After two defeats in a row, the Sixers bounced back in emphatic style by hammering Brisbane Heat on Sunday by 79 runs as they defended their total of 177/7 by bowling out the Heat for just 98 in 18.1 overs.
- James Vince enjoyed the best innings since signing for the Sixers with a classy 75 from 46 balls and their batting line-up continues to be strong and solid with virtually all of their top six contributing consistently this season.
- The performance of Lloyd Pope on his debut against Heat was another bright spot for them as he impressed with his two wickets and as they have named an unchanged squad for this match, they could repeat the same eleven too.
HOBART HURRICANES
Coach: Adam Griffith
Captain: Matthew Wade
- It has been a stunning start to the Big Bash for Hobart Hurricanes having won eight of their opening nine matches and they come off arguably their best performance of the entire tournament as they restricted the Strikers to just 154 and then smashed through the total without losing a wicket.
- Matthew Wade and D’Arcy Short produced an outstanding opening partnership of 158 – the highest in the tournament so far – and they continued their superb form as they completely outplayed the Strikers and extended their lead at the top of the ladder.
- Continuity has been a big positive for them and they are afforded the luxury of naming an unchanged squad of 13 yet again as they have not been impacted by international call-ups at all.
THE PREDICTION
It is difficult to go against the Hobart Hurricanes at the moment given their stunning form and the continuity they have in their team selections unlike most other teams. The Sixers are proving to be highly capable themselves and they are competing well in every game as they come into this match in third place. They will provide a stiff test to the leaders as they have some talented bowlers and a batting unit that is producing the goods collectively and consistently. Hard to oppose the Hurricanes but expect the Sixers to run them real close here.
