THE TEAM NEWS

WASHINGTON REDSKINS

  • Washington were shutout against San Francisco as the Redskins struggled on offense in awful conditions which saw them fall to 1-6 and now face a tough test on the road against an in-form Minnesota.
  • The Redskins suffered another injury on Sunday when S Montae Nicholson exited the game against the 49ers with a hamstring injury and he is deemed questionable for this game with the short week not helping his chances.
  • RB Chris Thompson and TE Vernon Davis remain notable names on the list of players who are out while RB Adrian Peterson is also questionable because of an ankle injury but should be good to play.

MINNESOTA VIKINGS

  • Minnesota produced another superb display on offense as they improved to 5-2 with a victory over NFC North rivals Detroit and will be confident of making it four wins in a row on TNF.
  • Adam Thielen injured a hamstring when scoring a TD against the Lions and the Vikings WR will sit out the first game of his NFL career as a result of that but it is not likely to keep him out for a prolonged period.
  • DT Jalyn Holmes was added to Wednesday’s injury report after he was forced to sit out practice through illness and he is officially listed as questionable for this contest but the Vikings hope he will be able to suit up.

THE PREDICTION

Washington were unable to build on their win over Miami as they went down to their sixth loss of the season against San Francisco. They now head to a Minnesota team that have been in great form recently thanks to their improved effort on offense and QB Kirk Cousins can lead his side to the win. Even with the loss of Adam Thielen, the Vikings still have the combination of WR Stefon Diggs and RB Dalvin Cook who could do some real damage to this Redskins defense.
