THE TEAM NEWS

TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS

  • Tampa Bay will hope their bye week can allow them to improve after falling to 2-4 in a poor defeat against Carolina in London with the Buccaneers having lots of issues to fix on both sides of the ball.
  • Bucs QB Jameis Winston turned the ball over six times against the Panthers in a disappointing personal display that he must put behind him or he could find himself benched like he was in parts during last season.
  • WR Breshad Perriman has been missing since Week 4 but he was a full participant at Wednesday’s practice and should he avoid any setbacks before Sunday, he will provide Winston with a further option in the receiving corps.

TENNESSEE TITANS

  • Tennessee produced some brilliant defense late in the game as they made two goalline stands to hold off Los Angeles Chargers and bounce back from the disappointing Week 6 shutout against Denver.
  • After guiding his side to victory last week, Titans QB Ryan Tannehill will keep the starting role ahead of Marcus Mariota and that looks like it will remain the case for the foreseeable future.
  • WR Corey Davis sat out Wednesday’s practice through illness but he should be fine to suit up against the Buccaneers and he will hope to carry on where he left off last week after scoring just his second TD of the season while collecting a season-high six receptions.

THE PREDICTION

Tampa Bay had plenty to work on during their bye week but it may not have been long enough to iron out some of the issues they had against Carolina. They head to Tennessee to face the Titans, who secured a great win thanks to a late goalline stand against Los Angeles Charges last week, and with their offense looking more functional with QB Ryan Tannehill under centre, they can go back-to-back here.
