Alex de Minaur vs Novak Djokovic prediction

Alex de Minaur defeated August Holmgren 6-4 7-6 6-3 to make the round-of-16 at Wimbledon for the third time in the last four years. Holmgren was one of the last qualifiers remaining in the main draw and produced a battling display. His strong serve and forehand troubled De Minaur at times, but the Australian found a way to cope with the threat and still sealed a victory in straight sets.

He will go up against Novak Djokovic after he thrashed compatriot Miomir Kecmanovic to sail into the next round. Djokovic won nine games in a row at one point as he defeated Kecmanovic 6-3 6-0 6-4. He did have some trouble serving the match out but it was another thoroughly impressive display from the 24-time Grand Slam champion.

Djokovic leads the head-to-head 2-1. These two were due to play in the quarter-finals here last year, but De Minaur was forced to withdraw before the match took place due to injury. 

The Australian has faced two qualifiers and an opponent ranked outside the top 70 in his opening three matches, and the step up to Djokovic is likely to prove too much. The former world number one has been almost faultless so far and is likely to win this comfortably.
