South Africa will be hoping to back up their recent Test match performances by playing well in the white ball stuff, starting here in this first game of a tri-series involving the Proteas, Zimbabwe and New Zealand. Although the 20-over format can sometimes prove a leveller when there is a mismatch on paper between two teams, South Africa should be able to dominate here.

Getting off to a good start will be crucial in this tri-series and South Africa will be expected to do just that. They have a much-better all-round team on paper than Zimbabwe and that should be reflected in the result. It would be a big surprise if South Africa do not pick up the victory.
