Zalgiris vs Linfield prediction

Lithuanian champions Zalgiris Vilnius began their 2025/26 European campaign with a surprise and agonising defeat to Maltese champions Hamrun Spartans in the first qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League. Zalgiris won the first-leg 2-0, before Hamrun then managed to edge through on penalties in Malta in the second-leg.

They now face a Linfield side that, coached by David Healy, suffered their own slender defeat last week to Irish champions Shelbourne last week. Linfield were beaten 1-0 by Shelbourne in Ireland in the first-leg, before then being held to a 1-1 draw with their Irish opposition in the second-leg at Windsor Park in Belfast.

Linfield will fancy their chances of going a bit deeper in this competition, but Zalgiris have shown their form at home, so they would have to remain slight favourites.

Zalgiris vs Linfield tip: Double chance – Zalgiris to win or draw
