Wales vs Scotland prediction
Wales' opening Pool B clash against Uganda was expected to be a closely-fought encounter given that just one place separates the sides in the world rankings, and so it proved to be as the African side held on to win 59-50 in a match that could prove pivotal to how the standings will end up.
Although the Feathers, coached by Emily Handyside for the final time in this tournament, led 31-28 at half-time, a sloppy third quarter ultimately cost them the win as they were never able to recover.
Scotland were handily beaten by number two-ranked New Zealand on Saturday, with the Thistles on the end of a 74-44 defeat that wasn't entirely unexpected.
There were one or two positives for the hosts but the gulf in class was clear to see. They won't, however, be so dominated against Wales, and they will view this as a potentially winnable game despite being ranked three places below their British rivals.
This could be a see-saw battle, but we just give the edge to Wales, who boast a little more quality and experience in their ranks.
