Brad Tavares: Battle-tested Hawaiian looking for another win

Brad Tavares (21-10) returns to action following a decision win over Gerald Meerschaert. Prior to that, the 37-year-old Hawaiian dropped a close split decision to Jun Yong Park and was stopped by Gregory Rodrigues via third-round TKO.

A true UFC veteran, Tavares holds a 16-10 promotional record and has shared the Octagon with some of the biggest names in the middleweight division — including Yoel Romero, Robert Whittaker, and Israel Adesanya. A capable kickboxer with solid takedown defence, Tavares is entering the twilight of his career but continues to serve as a tough test for rising contenders.

Robert Bryczek: Polish power puncher searching for redemption

Robert Bryczek (17-6) made his UFC debut earlier this year but fell short in a one-sided decision loss to Ihor Potieria. The 35-year-old entered the promotion on a five-fight winning streak — all first-round KO/TKO finishes — but struggled to adapt once things didn’t go his way.

Bryczek has nice power and decent boxing, with 65% of his wins coming via KO/TKO. However, his striking lacks fluidity, and it remains to be seen how well he can adjust when facing higher-level opposition inside the UFC.

Brad Tavares vs Robert Bryczek prediction

Bryczek’s UFC debut raised concerns, especially given how decisively he was outstruck and dropped by Potieria, who wasn’t expected to pose much of a threat, having taken the fight on short notice. The Pole’s inability to adjust during the fight was telling.

While Tavares may be in the latter stages of his career and now fits the mould of a journeyman, his wealth of experience and durability still make him a reliable presence in the division. Having faced far superior opposition than Bryczek, Tavares should be able to rely on his veteran savvy and well-rounded skill set to edge this one on the scorecards.

Prediction: Brad Tavares to win by decision
