Andreas Gustafsson: Relentless Swede looking to break through

Andreas Gustafsson (12-2) burst onto the UFC scene with an impressive unanimous decision win over heavy-hitter Khaos Williams in June, following a second-round knee finish over Pat Pytlik on Dana White’s Contender Series that earned him his contract. The 34-year-old Swede is currently riding a four-fight winning streak and has never been finished in his professional career.

Known for his relentless pace and pressure-heavy approach, Gustafsson thrives in chaotic fights. He loves to close the distance, maul opponents with aggressive grappling, and wear them down with his stamina. With 67% of his wins coming via KO/TKO, he brings real finishing intent to every bout.

Rinat Fakhretdinov: Russian wrestler fighting to get his mojo back

Rinat Fakhretdinov (23-1-1) remains undefeated in the UFC through six appearances, but his recent performances have raised eyebrows. After dominant early wins over Kevin Lee, Bryan Battle and Andreas Michailidis, the 33-year-old Russian has looked increasingly beatable. He drew with Elizeu Zaleski dos Santos, edged out a split decision over Nicolas Dalby, and most recently won a controversial decision against Carlos Leal — a result many viewed as a robbery.

Fakhretdinov is a high-volume wrestler who consistently hunts takedowns but offers little submission threat. While he's tough and durable, he’s shown signs of stagnation in his development and has seemingly lost the aura of dominance he once had.

Andreas Gustafsson vs Rinat Fakhretdinov prediction

Rinat looked like a serious contender after his first three UFC outings, particularly with his submission win over Kevin Lee. However, his recent performances have exposed vulnerabilities, and many believe he should have lost to Carlos Leal. Meanwhile, Gustafsson looked strong in his debut, dominating a dangerous striker in Khaos Williams and showing he's ready for the UFC level.

While Gustafsson may well have the tools to hand Rinat his first UFC loss, both men are incredibly durable and have never been finished. Regardless of who edges it, the most likely outcome is that this fight goes the full three rounds.

Prediction: Fight to go the distance
