  • Türkiye have lost only two of their last 12 World Cup qualifying matches at home (W6 D4).
  • Türkiye have scored in 15 of their last 16 World Cup qualifying matches.
  • Bulgaria have lost their last five World Cup qualifying matches. Their longest sequence of successive defeats in World Cup qualifying history.
  • Bulgaria are without a win in their last 12 World Cup qualifying matches outside of Bulgaria (D3 L9), since a 2-1 victory away from home against Malta in September 2013.

Turkey vs Bulgaria prediction

Coached by former Italy international striker Vincenzo Montella, Turkey come into this one on the back of a 4-1 hammering of Georgia to back up a 6-1 demolition of the Bulgarians. The Turks went at Spain in September and were made to pay with a 6-0 demolition pretty much ending their hopes of automatic qualification.

Bulgaria are a team that have been regressing for a little while and it has been an atrocious qualifying campaign for them. After beginning with a 3-0 loss at home to Spain, they have gone on to lose 4-0 in Spain and 3-0 in Georgia, as well as that 6-1 demolition at the hands of Spain.

Turkey have a lot of quality and Bulgaria are a team that are letting in a lot of goals and so a comfortable, heavy Turkish victory is to be expected for this one.

Turkey vs Bulgaria tip: Turkey to win -1 handicap
