THE PREDICTION

Former world number one Victoria Azarenka beat Katie Boulter in straight sets on Monday to back-up two eye-catching results over Peyton Stearns and Qinwen Zheng. The 34-year-old counts three Miami Open titles amongst her illustrious career total of 21 accolades and she claimed the rare ‘Sunshine Double’ by winning Indian Wells and Miami back-to-back in 2016. World number 68 Yulia Putintseva enjoyed a much-needed run to the round of 16 at Indian Wells last week but she has bettered that here in Miami, beating Anhelina Kalinina in impressive straight sets to back-up an earlier upset over Liudmila Samsonova. The 29-year-old has also upset Ekaterina Alexandrova and Madison Keys this month to suggest she could be on the move back up towards her career-high of 27th but this looks a much steeper challenge against Azarenka, who has started 2024 in excellent form overall. Azarenka has edged through both of their previous matches in tight three sets to look the slight favourite, so back the Belarussian to win outright.

TIP: VICTORIA AZARENKA TO WIN
