Daria Snigur has enjoyed the strongest season of her career in 2026, climbing to number 46 in the world. Her most significant tour-level result was reaching her maiden WTA final in Prague, where she beat Lanlana Tararudee and Tereza Valentova before losing to Lilli Tagger. She also reached the third-round at Wimbledon, including a notable win over Elina Svitolina, and won her first WTA 125 title in Oeiras. The Ukrainian has not competed since the US Open, which ended in the opening round following a straight sets loss to Diana Shnaider.

Her first-round opponent is Katarzyna Kawa. The Pole is ranked outside the world’s top 100, with her best work coming on clay. She has won two WTA 125 titles in 2026, along with a quarter-final appearance in Bogota on the WTA Tour. She had to qualify for this event, doing so with wins over Rinko Matsuda and Valeria Savinykh.
