She faces Tamara Korpatsch. The German’s highlight of 2026 so far was her brilliant title win at the Hamburg Open in July. However, she has just one win from her following four matches, which was capped off by a straight sets loss to teenager Lilli Tagger in round one at Flushing Meadows.

Korpatsch has far greater experience, but Preston has become the more dangerous player on this surface.
