THE PREDICTION
24-year-old Thiago Seyboth Wild brought a career-high ATP world ranking of 65th into Indian Wells after a solid February on the South American clay swing but his straight-sets victory over 15th seed Karen Khachanov came as a huge surprise on Friday. The Brazilian stunned another Russian, Daniil Medvedev, in five sets en-route to the third round at Roland-Garros last summer on his favoured clay but beating Qatar Open champion Khachanov on a hardcourt is in some ways the more impressive result as he continues to improve on tour.
World number 58 Fabian Marozsan knows all about upsetting top talents on clay after he burst onto the scene by stunning Carlos Alcaraz at the Rome Masters last May and he also grabbed an excellent result here with a comeback over 24th seed Nicolas Jarry on Friday. A first meeting between the two makes for perhaps the toughest match to call on Sunday but back Seyboth Wild to earn at least a set after four matches without dropping one from qualifying through to the third round.
