Malaysia vs Vietnam prediction

Despite having not given up a single goal across the tournament, it wasn’t enough for Malaysia to top their group. They were forced to settle for a second-placed finish having finished on seven points with an identical goal difference to Indonesia, but scoring less goals. A 6-0 thrashing against Singapore in their last game wasn’t enough for the Malaysians.

Vietnam picked up six points, with defeat at the hands of Thailand sandwiched between victories against both Philippines and Pakistan. But taking down this Malaysia backline will be hard work. Whilst the attack of Vietnam is strong, Malaysia are good enough defensively to contain them and that might be critical and you’d expect the latter to find the net at least once themselves. Therefore, backing Malaysia appears the move to make.
